Even the longest hitters find it almost impossible to reach this green in two shots, a true par-five, which would be easier without very well placed bunkers to catch your ball from the tee and from the second shot. Anything left brings trouble all the way from tee to green. Play the hole the long way around, avoiding the bunkers. To drop one or even two shots to par is no disgrace.
The green is thin and long with the bunker on the left intruding, and slopes from back to front. If the pin is at the back, an extra club will be needed, but care should be taken to avoid the out of bounds to the left of the green. This is one of the best holes at Blankney, a long haul which doesn’t favour the long hitter, but rewards the golfer who can plot his way from tee to green.
