The first and shortest of the par 3’s played across a hollow between tee and green, entails some tricky club selection at times. It is quite difficult to judge the direction of the wind from the sheltered tee, therefore it is always pleasing to see the ball hit the putting surface. The green slopes from back to front, and is one of the earliest greens remaining at Blankney.
A putt of any length across the slope or downhill will test the player’s judgement, and it is best to leave an uphill putt. It is a good opportunity, however, for the high handicap player to make par on this short hole before the next two testing ones.
